According to wind tunnel studies, standard chimney caps have good properties for increasing draft in windy situations. In fact, a standard chimney cap can often function as well, if not better then, certain models marketed as “draft increasing.”

Fireplace Screens Information - Fireplace screens come in all different shapes and sizes because no two fireplaces are alike. We have fireplace screens that have one single panel and work in nearly any home because they fit flat across the fireplace in a straight line. We also offer fireplace screens that have more than one panel and have a curved effect to complement your home. In order to find out which size fireplace screen you need, add 10 to 12 inches to the width of your fireplace and 3 to 5 inches to the height of your fireplace. This will allow enough fold to keep your fireplace screen from tipping over. Both width and height are important with regard to all fireplace screens as you need complete coverage for maximum protection and safety.
